MADDI NAYLOR
MEDIA: Oils, Acrylics, Pastel, Mixed Media, Mosaic, Glass & Tile painting
SUBJECT MATTER: Landscapes, portraits, animals
BACKGROUND
Maddi trained in Fine Arts in the UK, specialising in painting and drawing.
Over the years, she has taught both adults and children in painting and drawing techniques, but now focuses on producing her own art work, time permitting.
Maddi enjoys using a variety of media and has most recently focused on mosaic pieces which she displays in her house and garden. These pieces are semi-abstract because of the nature of mosaic, but her paintings are more realistic. She specialised in portraiture when she studied for her BA (Hons) but now, because of the glorious landscapes surrounding her in New Zealand, she's diversified into landscapes. Her most recent work has combined landscape with portraiture. She particularly enjoys using oils which she usually applies with a mix of brush and palette knife.
Maddi is one of the Trustees of Stoddart’s Cottage, and her responsibilities include Secretary and Exhibitions & Events co-ordinator for Stoddart’s Cottage. She, like all the Trustees of the Cottage, works voluntarily for the Trust, and was responsible for the sketched drawing that appears in the Stoddart's Cottage Logo.
