BRUCE BECKETT

SUBJECT MATTER: Landscapes
BACKGROUND
Bruce attended the Canterbury School of Art briefly in the 1940s.
When he came to live permanently at Charteris Bay in 1989 he joined the local art group and began painting in watercolours. Some three years ago he changed to oils, his first love.
Bruce is an active member of the Sumner Art Group and the Town and Country Society of Artists, exhibiting with both these groups and has won several awards at their annual exhibitions. He is also a member of the Diamond Harbour Art Group, and also exhibits individually at Stoddart’s Cottage on a regular basis.
Of his work, Bruce says:
“I am passionate about landscapes - especially of the Peninsula, and of the amazing cloud formations and sunsets that we experience.”
